More intros

Okay, so after introductions I think we need visuals, right? So that you’ll get to know what got me into this project in the first place.

The cause, the inspiration, the… well… the mess. I just hope you won’t scream when you see my room.

You’ll notice some random band posters from my early teens that I still haven’t bothered to take down. My sowing machine that used to belong to my mother. Plastic bags containing costumes or cloth bought for making costumes. And lots and lots of paper and notebooks.

I used to sleep on my bed until like a month ago, now I just use it as storage and sleep on the couch instead. (That really big white box on top of it contains all my drawings from college) Weird thing is, I’m pretty well organized with everything else in my life. And I hate dirty surroundings too. My house is actually spotless, except for my room. Haha go figure.

With that said, now let me show you the actual Fashion Book

I'm still thinking about a pretty cover to put on it. Any ideas are welcome!

It’s got a nice little pouch where I’m keeping some of the cutouts.

At first, I thought of actually making the notebook by buying A2 sized paper and folding it and binding it, but buying it ready made was actually a lot cheaper. (To my big surprise) This one I found is a pretty thick notebook (70 sheets, 140 pages) and bigger than an A4 but smaller than an A3.

Still nothing glued in it yet, but I’ve got a lot of cutouts so far… More than 10 magazines worth, I think.

I’m scared of actually running out of pages, though the 1st time I start gluing things in. I might buy another one only for makeup related things, that way it’ll save up space in this notebook and be more organized.

On a random note…
I don’t know if it’s just me but I almost never read the big articles in magazines. I used to buy them only for the pretty pictures. Now that I’ve been ripping apart my magazines I’m actually stopping and reading the articles. It’s nice. I’ve been separating a few articles too, for future reference, but I still don’t know where to keep them yet…

Oh yeah, and last visual!

This is me, pleased to meet you. =]

See you later ;]

Hello world

I must start off talking a little bit about myself so that I can explain the whole idea behind this blog. I am a 19 year old chick. I’ve been drawing my whole life and I am into fashion, but I never thought of really being a fashion designer, even though I’ve taken a few sewing classes throughout my life and am a self taught make-up artist (an amateur one at least). I actually wanted to work in the gaming industry, doing concept art.

I started doing Fine Arts in college and all was going well. I used to sew some things here and there, but mostly stuffed dolls and pillows. Then I started making cookies and cakes and got into cooking. So I started Gastronomy in another college. I now take both courses and am beginning to miss sewing.

My room is a big mess and I’m in the process of cleaning it. Amongst the mess, I found all my old(ish) fashion magazines and had to find somewhere to put them… that was how TFBP was born.
TFBP, or The Fashion Book Project, is the way I’ve found to inspire myself. Through it, I hope to inspire you. Basically I am cutting out all the things I like in my fashion magazines, pasting them into a big blank notebook and drawing, taking notes, creating…

In this blog, I’ll show my progress, but not only that: I want to talk about fashion, make up, anything that is inspiring in life and give tips and tutorials.

I hope that with this, we’ll all get inspired, and I’ll get back to sewing. =]
